A Styled, Yet Sentimental Maternity Pictures

Alaina’s vision was so cute. She envisioned a flower field, in which we were so happy to find out that Congaree and Penn had a field. Every detail from the outfit, the basket of flowers, and the cutest boots from Hunter Boots were planned out by her. All just a part of session planning- to ensure real, authentic, yet artful images.

Starting in the Flower Fields at Congaree and Penn

We began the session in the flower fields at Congaree and Penn, a hidden gem right here in Jacksonville, FL. The soft evening light, rows of seasonal blooms, and open sky made the perfect setting for quiet, fun, and intimate photos. It was so sweet watching the love—laughing, hand holding, and soaking in of these final weeks before baby girl arrives.

Sentimental Details that Told Their Story

One of the things that I love about storytelling, and documentary photography- is getting to see how family’s stories unfold with details that are special to them, and their session. Some of the details that were apart of this session were: flowers, books, onesies, a blanket, and a cute Bible. These details make a session more of a story than just posed and still images. Lived-in photos that tell a story.

Walking the Farm & Documenting Authentic Moments

After the flower fields, we explored the rest of the Congaree and Penn property, this porperty is so stunning. The green grass, the white picket fences, and the farm animals that make their appearances in the background. The light shifted to golden hour, turning the mood golden. There were no stiff poses— just a little direction or inspo. Two people being fully present with each other. It was relaxed, meaningful, and completely true to them.

1. Do you travel?
   • I am a Jacksonville Family, Newborn, and Maternity Photographer, and while my client’s are primarily in Jacksonville, Fl- I also service other areas such as St. Augustine, Fl, Gainesville, Fl, and areas closely surrounding. There is a $50 travel fee per way up to two hours from these areas.
2. How does the booking process work?
   • Once we have determined we are a good fit through inquiry- we will select a date, and I will send a booking link to you where you will sign a contract, answer a questionnaire, and pay a non-refundable initial payment. The planning process begins after this!
3. Will you pose us?
   • I offer a documentary approach—artful prompting, candid moments, and natural connection. While some posed shots happen, most of the session focuses on movement and real interaction to capture authentic emotion.
